In recent years, the outside world has glimpsed Haiti largely through the lens of foreign photojournalists’ cameras, often in the wake of disasters like the earthquake that devastated parts of the country in 2010. Now, nonprofit organization FotoKonbit is teaching young Haitians how to capture and share their own photographs of Haiti to create a richer, more personal portrait of the country. Published with the December 2015 issue of National Geographic Magazine.
